After a disappointing Eurocup weekend in Hungary early July, Koiranen bros. Motorsport travelled to Silverstone full of determination, aiming to take back the top spot in drivers' standings.
The weekend got off to a great start, as Carlos Sainz jr. set the fastest time in timed practise for Saturday race - but those were to be the only good news all weekend.
In race 1, Sainz jr. got a drive through penalty as the ignition cable, worth less than 1€, was damaged and his engine had to be started by the mechanics. At the end of the day, Daniil Kvyat finished 8th, Hans Villemi 26th, unlucky Sainz jr. 27th and John Bryant-Meisner 29th.
Sunday's race 2 didn't provide much of a consolation - Kvyat finished 5th, Sainz jr. 6th, Bryant-Meisner 18th and Villemi retired.
After a British weekend-to-forget, the drivers top-3 is Robin Frijns (Kaufmann) 186 points, Sainz 131 and Kvyat 107.
Next round of Eurocup is held September 17-18 in Paul Ricard, France.
